The Metropolitan Cathedral, Liverpool (L3)

Cathedral EntranceEntering the Cathedral — When entering the interior of the church you become encircled in a blaze of color. The modern glass windows stretch from the floor to the ceiling in wonderful rainbow colours in shades of red, blues, greens and yellow. There is a short film Crown of Glass documenting the construction of the glass windows. This is not the traditional stained glass windows that are to be seen in the historic English chapels and churches. For those raised in the older traditions, this may be a shock to the senses; however, this modern rendering is grandly impressive in its futuristic modern design.
